In a decisive strike against banditry, the Katsina State Government has lauded the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA and the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade for a successful joint operation that dismantled notorious bandit camps at Bichi Hill.
Acting on credible intelligence and precision ISR missions, the operation, conducted on December 19, 2024, targeted hideouts of bandit kingpins Manore and Lalbi, who had terrorized communities across Danmusa, Safana, and Kankara LGAs.
The offensive began with airstrikes that devastated the camps, forcing the bandits into disarray. Ground troops then engaged the fleeing criminals in fierce firefights, while air platforms delivered follow-up strikes, neutralizing scores of bandits and destroying their facilities.
The Katsina State Government, in a statement signed by Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Muazu, praised the troops’ bravery and commitment to peace. “This operation has delivered a crushing blow to the bandits and sent a clear message: Katsina State is no safe haven for criminals.”
This joint success underscores the unwavering resolve to restore stability in Katsina and the entire North West region.
