Notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji has resumed violent attacks on the Shinkafi road in Zamfara State, disregarding impassioned pleas from senior Fulani leaders to halt his reign of terror.
Reliable sources disclosed to Zagazola Makama that Turji’s gang has intensified their assaults on travelers and communities, plunging the area into panic and paralyzing movement along the vital route.
The attacks come just hours after influential Fulani leaders from Shinkafi, Moriki, and Zurmi convened with Turji, urging him to lift his blockade on the Shinkafi-Gusau road and abandon plans for further violence. The leaders also pleaded for a cessation of abductions and killings, emphasizing the devastating impact on Zamfara and neighboring Sokoto State.
Despite their efforts, Turji reportedly gave no assurances during the meeting, and his actions now suggest their appeals fell on deaf ears.
The resurgence of attacks has sparked fresh calls for urgent intervention by security forces to restore order in the troubled region.
