The Director General of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Y. D Ahmed has called on Corps members to be security conscious as they proceeded to their places of primary assignment.
Ahmed who was represented by the Sokoto State Coordinator, Alhaji Usman Yakubu Yaro made the call at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch B, stream 1 Corps members deployed to Sokoto State.
He stressed that security is everyone’s business, hence they should avoid any act that can endanger their lives.
” You should avoid act such as staying out late, attending night parties, Visitation of dangerous places and acceptance of car ride or gifts from strangers”
” Be good ambassadors of the NYSC and your families thereby avoiding any acts that can portray the scheme in bad light” he cautioned
The DG urged them to avoid using social media for ethnic jingoism, rumour peddling and promotion of hatred, instead they should target their online activities for self improvement and promotion of unity
He further appealed to Corps employers to always accept Corps members posted them and make necessary provision for their welfare.
