Bauchi Two JSS Students Nab for Robbery

Operatives of the Bauchi Police Command have arrested two junior secondary school students of Bakari Dukku Comprehensive Secondary,  Bauchi for robbery. They are Hamza Sadiq and Adamu Ahmadu, both of whom 15 years old each

“The Bauchi State Police Command has achieved a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to combat crime and criminality. Following a thorough investigation, operatives from the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) unit arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery incident at a mobile phone shop in Wunti Market, Bauchi”.

A statement signed by the Bauchi State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil Thursday, said that the two suspects have during interrogation confessed to their crimes, as they
will be taken to a remand home for rehabilitation after the completion of the investigation and recovery of the remaining stolen items.

SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil explained that proceeds of the crime were used to purchase clothes, food, and a smartphone, which was later stolen from one of the suspects as well, and the recovered items are 21 mobile phones; 5 MP4 players; One mobile phone charger; and a metal key.

The PPRO recalled that On October 1, 2024, a mobile shop owner reported the theft of the some items from his shop at Wunti Market, Bauchi that included 100 mobile phones; 75 MP4 players; 30 cell phone batteries; 50 external memory cards; and a Bluetooth headset

Wakil said, “During interrogation, the suspects confessed to having managed to obtain the shop key from where it was stored for safekeeping, timed the shop owner’s departure for the village market, and repeatedly opened the shop door to steal from it during the day”.

According to the Bauchi Police Spokesperson, the suspects sold the stolen items randomly at lower prices, ranging from N8,000 to N5,000, with the proceeds of the crime used to purchase clothes, food, and a smartphone, which were later stolen from one of the suspects as well.

Wakil described the arrest as a significant milestone in the Command’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and criminality, saying “Operatives from the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) unit arrested two suspects at a mobile phone shop in Wunti Market in Bauchi”.

SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil further explained that the Bauchi State Police Command remained committed to maintaining law and order, as it appreciates the cooperation of the public, while urging them to continue reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station in the state.
