The Bauchi State Shari’a Commission Hisba Command has taken some measures prohibiting social vices in Bauchi State. The action is sequel to reports and complaints from the general public on the increase of social vices and the breach of public peace during marriage ceremonies. These include what is known as ‘Kauyawa day’ and Birthday ceremony being conducted hence the Hisbah Command Bauchi State Shari’a is left with no option than to set the following guidelines;
1) Mixing of opposite sex is highly prohibited.
2) Dancing with opposite sex admist infants and children is hereby prohibited.
3) Selling of toxicants of any kind and their consumption.
4) Seating arrangements has to be in accordance with gender consideration.
5) All activities must be suspended during the stipulated prayer times.
6) Traditional dressing code should be adhered to.
7) Using blasphemous or abusive language against individual or constituted Authority.
8) All activities organized by females should be an all female affair.
9) Traditional activity like the Fulani ‘Sharo or Shadi’ accompanied by ‘Garaya’ is also prohibited.
10) Activities such as ‘Kauyawa’ day, Dj Gala Aloba are also prohibited.
11) Prostitution in all it’s ramifications and other immoral acts are equally prohibited in all centers, clubs, Hotels, Houses and Recreational areas.
12) Exhibition of porn graphic Films weather privately or in public and other places.
Failure to comply with the foregoing guidelines, will meet with the wrath of the Hisbah Command according to Barrister Aminu Balarabe Isah the Permanent Commissioner of Hisbah Bauchi.
The guidelines were read to Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation and Hoteliers and Operators of Recreational Centers.
