Bauchi Oil & Gas Institute Eyes Accreditation in Early 2026

In the last lap of on the spot assessment tour of on going projects, and completed ones executed by Governor Bala Muhammad in the last six years, the Journalists team on inspection of these projects led by the Commissioner of Information Usman Shehu Usman and the Special Advisor to the Governor on Publicity comrade Mukhtar Gidado, visited the newly established Oil and Gas Institute in Alkaleri Local Government area.

The Oil and Gas Institute, according to the Provost Dr. Ahmed Yaro, is targeting the first quarter of 2026 for the accreditation of its Oil and Gas courses by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

He told the team that work is in progress steadily at the site, with several key projects already underway.

According to him, the state government has begun the construction of lecture theatres, hostels, and office accommodations.

Other facilities under construction include laboratories, an auditorium, and an academic block.

The official noted that the auditorium will have a 300-seat capacity, while the twin lecture theatres will each accommodate 250 persons.

“The state government has commenced the construction of various facilities, targeting accreditation by the NBTE in the first quarter of 2026.

” The academy aims to develop the skills of the local workforce, empower youths, and enhance vocational training,” he said.
