Bauchi state is 50 years today, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed announced Friday while unveiling the Anniversary Logo celebrating the golden jubilee of statehood, unity, shared progress and collective heritage.
The Governor at the Logo unveiling ceremony held at the Government House described the event as a moment for reflection on Bauchi’s heritage, resilience and diversity.
He said that the anniversary logo symbolizes unity and inclusiveness through motifs representing the twenty local government areas and destiny, with gold reflecting achievement and green signifying hope statewide.
Senator Bala Mohammed also noted that Bauchi state’s progress since its creation in 1976 was built on sacrifice, collective effort and the resilience of its people, drawing strength from diversity, industry and commitment.
According to him, the golden jubilee belongs to all citizens, and urged Bauchi indigenes and friends at home and abroad to mark the anniversary as a moment of reflection, renewal and shared responsibility.
Taking from the Anniversary Logo, Bauchi State @ 50 represents a celebration of heritage, unity, resilience, and progress marking fifty years of the State’s creation (1976–2026).
According to the governor, the concept draws inspiration from the geographical identity of Bauchi State, its 20 Local Government Areas, and the collective journey of its people over five decades of socio-economic, cultural, and political development. .
“The 20 circular motif on the Logo reflects unity and inclusiveness, signifying all the LGAs and diverse communities coming together as one state. The golden color expresses achievement, value, and optimism”.
Governor Bala further explained that the green elements represent fertility, agriculture, life, and hope, which are core strengths of Bauchi state.
The map outline, the governor stated, reinforces identity, territorial pride, and rootedness, emphasizing Bauchi’s distinct place in Nigeria’s history and future.
