In the early hours today, a fierce confrontation broke out between Nigerian soldiers, local residents of Gatawa, and the infamous bandit leader Bello Turji with his men.
Reports say the intense fighting erupted around 6:00 a.m. near Bakin Gulbi, close to Tungar Yakuba in Sokoto State.
Heavy gunfire has filled the air as both soldiers and locals, determined to defend their community, engage in battle against Turji’s heavily armed forces.
