With growing influence, deep grassroots connections, and powerful networks, these lawmakers are emerging as top contenders ahead of what promises to be a heated race.

Barau Jibrin (Kano North) Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin is seen as the strongest APC figure capable of challenging the Kwankwasiyya movement in Kano. His rising influence and defections from NNPP into APC have strengthened his base ahead of 2027.
Solomon Adeola (Ogun West) Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and close ally of President Tinubu, Adeola is believed to have strong chances in Ogun as calls for power rotation favour the Ogun West district.
Tokunbo Abiru (Lagos East) The former bank chief turned senator is tipped as a possible successor to Governor Sanwo-Olu. Abiru’s technocratic profile and Ikorodu roots could give him a strategic edge in Lagos politics.
Abdul Ningi (Bauchi Central) The former Senate Leader enjoys wide support in Bauchi and maintains close ties with Atiku Abubakar. His experience and connections may place him among the PDP’s strongest hopefuls.
