Tragedy struck in Zamfara State on Sunday night as armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Tsafe town, killing two operatives of the Mobile Police Force (MOPOL).
According to security sources, the assailants stormed the outskirts of Tsafe along the Yankuzo road, unleashing heavy gunfire on security personnel stationed in the area. The two officers, who were on duty at the time, were overpowered and lost their lives during the assault.
The attack underscores the growing wave of insecurity plaguing Zamfara, where communities and security operatives continue to face relentless onslaughts from armed groups.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
