The Katsina State Police Command demonstrated exceptional bravery on January 18, 2025, as operatives thwarted an armed bandits’ attack on Ruwan Doruwa village in Dutsinma Local Government Area. The swift intervention neutralized seven suspected bandits and led to the recovery of 109 rustled animals.

A distress call was received at 9 a.m. reporting the attack by heavily armed bandits wielding AK-47 rifles. The Divisional Police Officer, in collaboration with the military, DSS, Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KTSCWC), and local vigilantes, swiftly mobilized to the scene.

A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the bandits to abandon their loot and flee. Among the recovered animals were 61 cows, 44 sheep, two donkeys, a goat, and a dog.
