Bandits Attack Rabah, Sokoto State: Two-Hour Gunfight Halts Invasion

Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State was the scene of a dramatic gunfight late yesterday night when bandits launched an attack from Riji village in Maikujera Ward. The assailants, intent on entering the town, engaged in a two-hour gun battle with combined security forces comprising Police, Mobile Police (MOPOL), and Community Guards.

The attackers set ablaze a newly acquired security vehicle provided by the Sokoto State Government, injuring several officers in the process. Despite the intensity of the confrontation, security operatives successfully repelled the bandits, preventing them from entering Rabah town.

Tragically, one person was killed during the attack, and the bandits escaped with a significant number of livestock, highlighting the dire security challenges in the area.

Residents and stakeholders are calling on the government to urgently deploy additional security personnel to Rabah LGA to prevent further incursions and restore peace.
