Hon. Alhaji Usman Madi Baderi has congratulated the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on the successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress APC Ward and Local Government Congresses across the state.
In a press statement personally signed and released on Tuesday, February 23, 2026, Hon. Baderi described the congresses as peaceful, transparent, and well organised, noting that the exercise reflected strict compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act and internal party guidelines.
According to him, the orderly conduct of the congresses demonstrates Governor Zulum commitment to democratic principles, rule of law, and internal party discipline. He added that the process has further strengthened unity, stability, and confidence among party members and the people of Borno State.
Hon. Baderi commended the Governor leadership style, describing it as fair, inclusive, and people oriented. He noted that Zulum humanitarian interventions, grassroots driven policies, and commitment to inclusive governance have continued to distinguish his administration.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the Governor greater wisdom, strength, and success in the continued service of the state.
Hon. Baderi further reflected on his political journey, recalling that after over three decades of stewardship in the opposition, he formally defected to the All Progressives Congress APC. He was received by the Borno State Chairman of the APC, the Right Honourable Bello Ayuba, alongside his entire political structure from Marte Local Government Area.
He explained that Governor Zulum leadership style, humanitarian gestures, and policy of inclusiveness were among the major factors that influenced his decision to join hands with the ruling party after 30 years in the opposition.
Hon. Baderi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the APC administration in consolidating peace, development, and democratic progress in Borno State.
