Badeiri Mourns Borno, Urges Swift Action

Katsina state government

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and comrades of the brave members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) who tragically lost their lives in Marte, Borno State. These courageous young men paid the ultimate price in defense of their communities, standing on the frontlines against terrorism and insecurity, and offering their strength and sacrifice to protect others. Their valor will never be forgotten, and their names shall be written in the history of Borno State as true heroes of our time.

We mourn not only the loss of these gallant defenders but also the pain and suffering their families must now endure. These are not just numbers or news headlines—they were sons, brothers, fathers, and community protectors. They left behind grieving mothers, fathers, widows, and children whose lives have been forever changed. We pray that Almighty God grants them eternal rest and comforts their families with peace and resilience during this difficult period.

In this spirit of shared grief and unity, we earnestly appeal to the Borno State Government to kindly extend meaningful support to the bereaved families. We urge the authorities to provide both immediate and long-term assistance to the parents, widows, and children left behind. Such support may include financial aid, educational scholarships for their children, healthcare access, and vocational opportunities for the families. Let us show them that the sacrifices of their loved ones are honored not just with words, but with tangible support and compassion.

Furthermore, we respectfully appeal to the Borno State Government to consider reopening and securing access to the villages of Badeiri and Kirenowa,MARTE LGA located near the Lake Chad region. These communities, rich in farmland and fishing opportunities, have been displaced for too long. The residents are eager to return to their ancestral homes—not only to rebuild their lives but also to contribute to the local economy through farming and fishing, which have long been the backbone of rural livelihood in this region.

The safe return of the people of Badeiri and Kirenowa of MARTE LGA to their lands will empower them to reduce their dependence on aid, combat poverty, and reclaim a sense of purpose and dignity. It will also help in revitalizing rural development and easing population pressure in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps. We believe that with proper security arrangements and government support, these resilient communities can thrive once again.

Let us stand united in grief, in gratitude, and in hope. Let the sacrifices of the CJTF not be in vain. Let us honor them by ensuring that the people they died protecting are given the opportunity to live in peace, dignity, and prosperity.

May the souls of the fallen heroes rest in perfect peace.
May God bless Borno State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

With heartfelt sympathy and hopeful appeal,
Sincerely.
Hon Usman Mahdi Badeiri.
