The African Union Commission (AUC) has called on international and regional partners to intensify support for Nigeria and other African nations in combating insecurity, protecting civilians, and promoting human rights across the continent.
In a statement, the Commission expressed concern over persistent violence driven by terrorism, banditry, communal clashes, and resource-based conflicts, particularly in Nigeria. It emphasized the urgent need for stronger coordination, strategic intervention, and accountability mechanisms to end cycles of violence and human rights violations.
The AUC reaffirmed its commitment to working with governments and development partners to restore stability, peace, and justice in affected regions, urging stakeholders to “act collectively to safeguard Africa’s future.”
