The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has sounded the alarm with a looming ultimatum threatening a nationwide strike.
The trigger? A glaring absence of governing councils across all federal universities, coupled with a string of unresolved issues left unattended by the government.
Since the federal government dissolved university governing councils last May, ASUU has been vigilant, pointing out the critical need for these councils and demanding accountability from authorities.
Speaking at an ongoing press conference in ASUU’s national headquarters in Abuja, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, ASUU’s President, urged Nigerians to stand up for transparency and demand clear actions from the government regarding this crucial matter.
The clock is ticking, and ASUU’s message is clear: the time for action is now.
