Niger Delta activist King Asari Dokubo has issued a firm political declaration, vowing never to sacrifice the Ijaw people for any individual or interest, even as he reaffirmed loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking with unmistakable resolve, Dokubo said his support for Tinubu remains “100 per cent,” stressing that friendship with the President does not conflict with his commitment to Ijaw unity and political advancement.
Turning to Rivers State politics, the outspoken leader declared unwavering solidarity with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, describing him as “my Ijaw brother” and insisting that the political tradition in Rivers State favors continuity.
“Rivers governors do second terms,” Dokubo said pointedly. “An Ijaw man will do the same.”
In a clear message to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Dokubo signaled that the Ijaw nation would not be sidelined or politically short-changed, warning that any attempt to undermine Fubara’s mandate would be resisted.
The statement has intensified political tension in Rivers State, with observers viewing Dokubo’s intervention as a strong signal that the Ijaw political bloc is closing ranks ahead of future electoral battles.
