Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division have scored a major security breakthrough in Kaduna State, rescuing 11 kidnapped victims in a daring late-night operation in Kachia Local Government Area.
Security sources said the operation was carried out on January 26 after troops stationed at a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Doka sighted armed terrorists moving with captives along a bush path between Gidan Duna and Amale, close to the busy Kaduna–Abuja road corridor.
The soldiers immediately mobilised and pursued the suspects, forcing the kidnappers into a hasty retreat.
“On sighting the approaching security vehicles and motorcycles, the terrorists abandoned the victims and fled into the surrounding bush,” the sources disclosed. “The troops secured the victims and fired probing shots in the general area, but no further contact was made.”
The rescued group included five adult males, three females and three children.
The victims told troops they were abducted from Gada Mallam Maman community in Kachia LGA on October 26, 2025, and had been held in captivity before their dramatic rescue.
They were safely conveyed back to their community and reunited with their families, amid relief and gratitude.
Military sources confirmed that security operations and patrols have been intensified across the area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks, as the Army sustains pressure on criminal elements along the Kaduna–Abuja axis.
The latest rescue adds to ongoing efforts by security forces to dismantle kidnapping networks and restore confidence on one of Nigeria’s most strategic highways.
