Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded another tactical success in the fight against terrorism, neutralising two terrorists and recovering weapons during a well-coordinated early-morning ambush in Borno State.
The operation took place at the Shettimari general area of Konduga Local Government Area, where troops operating under Operation Desert Sanity V laid in wait for fleeing insurgents.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the ambush was executed at about 1:20 a.m. on Thursday, as the terrorists attempted to cross through a known transit route. The soldiers swiftly engaged the fighters, killing two on the spot, while several others escaped in different directions under intense gunfire.
Following the successful engagement, the troops carried out an immediate exploitation of the area, leading to the recovery of two Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs and one magazine loaded with 23 rounds of 7.62mm x 39mm special ammunition.
Importantly, no casualty was recorded on the side of the troops, underscoring the precision and effectiveness of the operation.
After securing the area, the ambush team tactically repositioned and continued with their assigned mission, maintaining pressure on terrorist elements operating within the Konduga axis.
The latest operation adds to the growing list of successes by Nigerian troops in the North-East, as sustained military offensives continue to degrade terrorist networks and deny them freedom of movement across Borno State.
