
Scores of armed bandits have been neutralised and herds of cattle recovered in a fierce gun battle with terrorists security agencies and vigilante in Niger state.
This is contained in a statement signed and issued to Newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.
It however explained that the incident occoured when armed banditry attacked some villages in Nasko Magama local government council of Niger state when a combined team of Police Army and Vigilante struck.
However tactical team of the command sent for reinforcement to the area and military personnel with vigilante engaged those terrorists in a fierce gun battle on Ibeto cattle route which lasted for about two hours while trying to escape with the stolen cattle.
Cosequently scores of bandits were neutralised and twenty abducted victims regain freedom.
Other items recovered are one Ak47 magazine with thirty rounds of live ammunitions seven handsets and one Honda motorcycle.
Meanwhile Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state Mr Monday Bala Kuryas had reaffirmed the determination of his Command to rid the state of all forms of criminality.
