Zamfara farmers have every reason to smile as troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) stormed Tsafe Local Government Area with a lifeline — 200 bags of fertilizer — to boost harvests and secure livelihoods in communities once shattered by insecurity.
The fertilizer, handed over to the Emir of Tsafe, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Bawa, was presented on behalf of Theatre Commander Major General OO Soyele by Brigadier General Nkemakolam Mbaka.
“This initiative is more than farming. It is about restoring hope, strengthening civil–military cooperation, and helping communities return to their farms safely,” General Soyele declared, urging farmers to make the best use of the inputs.
The Emir, visibly elated, called the gesture “timely and impactful,” assuring that it would not only boost yields but also enhance food security across Tsafe. He praised the military’s non-kinetic approach, stressing that the people would continue to back troops in the battle against terrorism and banditry.
Community leaders, government representatives, and jubilant residents thronged the venue, hailing the military’s effort as a rare blend of security and community development.
With planting season underway, the gesture is seen as a big win for farmers — and a reminder that Operation FANSAN YAMMA’s mission goes beyond the battlefield, straight into the farmlands of Zamfara.
