The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General O.O. Oluyede, has reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to safeguarding the nation, emphasizing their readiness to defend lives and property at all costs.
Represented by Major General M.S. Ahmed, General Oluyede made the statement during the inauguration of a large-scale educational center in Chinade, Katagum Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The facility, constructed by Major General Aminu Shehu Chinade, features six classrooms, two dormitories, and additional amenities aimed at enhancing access to quality education for children and adults in the community.
“The Armed Forces remain resolute in fulfilling our constitutional mandate to protect the nation. We call on all citizens to support us in this mission,” General Oluyede stated, commending Major General Chinade’s philanthropic gesture as a model of leadership and community service.
Chinade’s Vision for Education
Speaking at the event, Major General Chinade revealed that his inspiration stemmed from his own educational journey, which was supported through free primary and secondary schooling. His commitment to education has also been evident through a scholarship foundation he established three years ago, benefiting over 200 students.
“I am fulfilling my responsibility to give back to my community,” General Chinade said, expressing gratitude to the Bauchi State Government, the Emir of Katagum, and the local government council for their support.
