COAS Oluyede Hails Kaduna-Based Vanquish Industries at Maiduguri Conference
In a major boost for Nigeria’s local defense industry, the Chief of Army Staff COAS, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has thrown his weight behind the Federal Government’s policy on patronising made-in-Nigeria products, as the Nigerian Army officially takes delivery of indigenously produced All-Terrain Combat Vehicles.
The unveiling took place at the 2025 COAS Bi-Annual Conference in Maiduguri, Borno State, where Lt Gen Oluyede lauded the efforts of Kaduna-based Vanquish Industries for producing the high-grade tactical vehicles designed to support ongoing military operations.
“From what we see here today, this is a clear manifestation of what we can achieve in Nigeria,” Oluyede declared. “These vehicles will significantly boost our operations and enable troops to penetrate hard-to-reach terrains. We commend the company for this stride.”
Dubbed The Vanquisher, the rugged combat vehicles are equipped with night vision technology and adaptable combat features aimed at enhancing troop mobility and effectiveness, especially in the Northeast’s challenging terrain.
Managing Director of Vanquish Industries, Mr. Zach Duwa, said the initial five vehicles are the first batch in a larger delivery schedule. “We remain committed to on-time delivery and operational excellence — a tradition we’ve upheld for years,” he noted.
The Army’s latest acquisition signals a renewed confidence in Nigerian-made military solutions and aligns directly with the Tinibu administration’s new directive urging public institutions to prioritise local products for national growth and self-reliance.
