The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the people of Borno State following the recent flight disaster that claimed lives and caused widespread devastation in Maiduguri and its surrounding areas.
Speaking during the ACF’s visit to Maiduguri, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Bashir Mohammed Dalhatu, expressed the delegation’s deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and properties.
He emphasized that the forum was in Maiduguri to share in the grief of the community and offer their prayers and support in this difficult time.
Dalhatu stated that they were in Maiduguri to express their sincere condolences for the loss of lives caused by the recent flight disaster, as well as the destruction of properties, farmlands, and other assets that the people of Borno have suffered.
He further conveyed that the devastation has deeply affected the Arewa Consultative Forum and that the people of Borno are not alone in their suffering.
“We are truly moved by what we have seen and felt it necessary to come and show our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Borno,” he added.
The delegation, which included key members of the forum, also met with the Governor of Borno State, where they expressed their shared sorrow and confirmed their commitment to supporting the state.
“What affects Borno affects all of us, particularly those of us from the northern region. We want the people of Borno to know that they are not alone in their time of need,” Dalhatu.
The ACF also offered prayers for the victims of the disaster, asking for God’s blessings on the souls of those who lost their lives and for strength for their families to bear the loss.
“May God Almighty bless the souls of the departed, and may Allah grant their families the fortitude to bear these losses,” Dalhatu concluded.
