Top diplomats from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq joined forces with representatives from Türkiye, Iran, and Russia, stressing the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2254. Their joint statement urged an immediate halt to hostilities, the establishment of a transitional government, and a humanitarian lifeline for millions in need.
“This is not just a Syrian issue; it’s a global imperative. The suffering must end,” the ministers declared.
UN Special Envoy Geir Pedersen briefed attendees on peace initiatives, with participants pledging coordinated efforts to restore Syria’s sovereignty and stability.
