Determined to steady the ship and rally its base ahead of key political engagements, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Conflict Resolution, Strategy and Mobilization Committee has mapped out flashpoints requiring urgent reconciliation to strengthen party unity nationwide.
The committee, chaired by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, met at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, where members underscored the urgency of sealing internal cracks as the party prepares for its forthcoming national convention and the next election cycle.
In a statement issued by Mamman Mohammed, Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, the panel stressed that resolving lingering disputes is essential to charting a fresh course of cohesion, unity and renewed strength for the ruling party.
“This reconciliation drive is to give all stakeholders and party members a true sense of belonging as the country prepares for the next round of electioneering,” the committee noted.
The committee warned that unresolved differences among key actors and in some states could pose risks to the party’s programmes and electoral prospects, insisting that a united front remains non-negotiable.
Alongside Governor Buni, the committee comprises Governors Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Hope Uzodimma, Hyacinth Alia, Umar Namadi, Bassey Otu, Abiodun Oyebanji, Sheriff Oborevwori and Uba Sani.
Other members include Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle; former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello; Senator Adamu Aliero; Senior Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs Ibrahim Masari; with Muiz Banire, SAN, serving as Secretary.
With unity, cohesion and inclusiveness topping its agenda, the committee signalled that swift engagement and bridge-building will define its next steps—aimed at repositioning the APC as it heads into a decisive political season.
