APC CAN’T SWALLOW NIGERIA!” — Kwankwaso Blasts One-Party Push

Borno State Government

A political storm is brewing as Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of mounting pressure to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.

In a fiery statement, the former Kano governor warned that the growing wave of defections into the APC risks erasing democratic choice for ordinary Nigerians.

“Right now, out of the 36 governors, almost 30 have been taken over,” he said, alleging that intense political pressure is being applied to force more leaders into the ruling party’s fold.

Kwankwaso questioned the implications of such dominance, asking whether elections would become mere formalities if all opposition voices are absorbed.

“Where will the masses have a choice?” he asked pointedly. “Does it mean even before elections are conducted, they will just declare that everyone has already won?”

Taking a swipe at political heavyweights, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso argued that winning elections goes beyond assembling governors and influential figures.

“They don’t understand politics,” he declared. “Victory comes from convincing the people and earning their trust—not just gathering big names.”

His remarks come amid shifting alliances and heightened political maneuvering ahead of future elections, with analysts warning that Nigeria’s democratic balance could face a critical test if the trend continues.
