In a move aimed at reinforcing joint efforts in Nigeria’s ongoing counter-insurgency operations, the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command, Makurdi, Air Vice Marshal Patrick Obeya, on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, paid a familiarisation visit to the Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
AVM Obeya, who was accompanied by the Air Component Commander OPHK, Air Commodore Umar Idris, and other senior officers, said the visit was part of his tour of Air Force formations in the region following his recent assumption of duty. He emphasized the importance of deepening synergy between the air and land components to enhance operational efficiency against insurgents.
“The visit has been enlightening and rewarding. I’m optimistic that with shared ideas and adequate resources, the mission will achieve greater milestones,” AVM Obeya stated, while pledging TAC’s unwavering support to OPHK operations.
Major General Abubakar warmly received the AOC, highlighting the importance of critical air assets in boosting operational outcomes. He congratulated AVM Obeya on his new role and reaffirmed the value of collaboration in achieving lasting peace in the North East.
The visit concluded with the exchange of plaques and a group photograph, symbolizing strengthened ties between the two commands.
