A new chapter unfolds at the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad officially takes over from Commandant Jamilu Abdu Indabawa.
In a ceremonial handover marked by the exchange of flags and documents, the outgoing Commandant, Jamilu Indabawa, expressed gratitude to Almighty God and commended the dedication of the officers and men of the Command. He urged them to extend unwavering support to the incoming Commandant to ensure the continued execution of the Corps’ mandate.
Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad, a seasoned security expert from Gwale, Kano State, pledged his commitment to safeguarding Katsina’s critical infrastructure, enhancing school safety, and improving disaster and crisis management. He lauded the leadership of the Corps’ Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for steering the organization towards excellence.
A graduate of Bayero University, Kano, Commandant Aminu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Hausa, a Master’s in Crime Management, and numerous professional certifications. His impressive career spans roles such as Chief Security Officer to the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, and head of various specialized units, including Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism.
Commandant Aminu also brings international expertise, having undergone advanced training in kidnapping investigation in Madrid, Spain, and preventive strategies against suicide attacks in Ankara, Turkey.
As he assumes his new role, Commandant Aminu assured Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, CON, and the people of Katsina State of his unwavering dedication to enhancing security and public safety.
The baton has officially been passed, marking a promising new era for the NSCDC Katsina Command.
