The body of renowned Nigerian business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has arrived in the holy city of Medina today, where he will be laid to rest.

According to family sources and officials from the Nigerian delegation in Saudi Arabia, preparations are underway for his Janazah (funeral) prayers, which will hold either after Zuhr or Asr prayers at one of Islam’s holiest sites. The final arrangements are being coordinated in line with Islamic rites and traditions.

Alhaji Dantata, aged 94, passed away peacefully over the weekend, leaving behind a remarkable legacy as one of the most influential figures in Nigeria’s business and philanthropic landscape. He was a pillar of the Dantata dynasty, which played a foundational role in Northern Nigeria’s commerce and industry.

Prominent Nigerians, including top government officials, religious scholars, and business leaders, have already arrived in Medina to attend the burial. The Federal Government delegation is led by Defence Minister Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, along with the Ministers of Justice and Information.

Dantata’s wish to be buried in Medina — a city he revered deeply — is being honored, and thousands are expected to join the funeral prayer amid emotional tributes.

May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
