In a coordinated effort with local vigilantes, Katsina Police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending Urwatu Habibu, also known as Dandamaso, a 20-year-old from Kofar Guga quarters.
Habibu, suspected of being a notorious thief and cable vandal, was caught red-handed with a sizable cache of aluminium cables along Ring Road, Katsina.
Interrogations revealed a lack of plausible explanation regarding the source of the cables, leading to a confession from Habibu.
He not only admitted to his involvement but also implicated Abubakar Kabir, alias Abu Tirai, who is currently evading capture.
Moreover, Habibu confessed to previous thefts from the same location and disclosed information about their unidentified receiver, also on the run from law enforcement.
The ongoing investigation is diligently pursuing the remaining suspects.This significant arrest underscores the dedication of law enforcement in curbing crime and safeguarding the community, as highlighted by ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer of Katsina State Command.
