The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has scored another victory in its relentless war against car theft syndicates, recovering a stolen Toyota Camry and arresting a fresh suspect linked to the notorious ring.
Following up on the August 6, 2025 arrest of members of a stolen vehicle syndicate, police operatives intensified operations to track down more stolen cars. Their efforts paid off on August 13, when, at exactly 4:00 p.m., officers swooped in and apprehended Otoabasi George Ime, who was found in possession of a Toyota Camry, registration number BGM 934 DA — confirmed to be among the vehicles snatched by the syndicate.
Police spokesperson DSP Timfon John said the manhunt for the remaining stolen vehicles is ongoing, assuring residents that the Command remains unwavering in its mission to safeguard lives and property.
