In a decisive move against insurgency, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai unleashed a series of precision airstrikes on Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in Malam Fatori on December 15, 2024. The operation dealt a severe blow to the terror group, eliminating dozens of fighters and crippling their logistics.
Intelligence sources revealed that a significant ISWAP gathering had been detected in the area, with militants mobilizing vehicles and motorcycles for operations. Acting on this intelligence, military aircraft launched a coordinated assault, obliterating targets with pinpoint accuracy.
Witnesses reported thunderous explosions and towering plumes of smoke as the strikes destroyed ISWAP’s assets, including vehicles and supply chains. Sources estimate the operation left dozens of terrorists dead, further weakening the group’s operational capacity.
The strikes are part of a broader Operation Hadin Kai strategy to secure northeastern Nigeria. Ground troops, supported by air superiority, continue to press ISWAP, marking a significant step in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
