The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, witnessed a moment of pride on Thursday, December 11, 2025, as the Association of Indigenous Nigerians (AIN) Resident in Katsina State bestowed a special honour on the State Commandant, Commandant of Corps AD Moriki, Acti, Anim, in recognition of his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to peace and security.
The award ceremony, held at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Katsina, brought together leaders of the association and senior officers of the Corps to celebrate a man whose impact, they said, has been “visible across the state.”
Speaking during the presentation, AIN President, Prince Kunle Awe (JP), praised Commandant Moriki for his dedication, professionalism and selfless service in safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He lauded the Commandant’s steady support for the association’s activities and his role in fostering unity among diverse communities residing in the state.
“Within the space of your stay in office, your leadership impacts are seen everywhere,” Prince Awe said, describing Commandant Moriki as a model public servant whose work continues to strengthen trust between security agencies and the public.
Responding after receiving the award, Commandant Moriki reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining and improving the security architecture of Katsina State. He highlighted several ongoing strategies, including enhanced stakeholder collaboration, night city patrols, special emergency response operations and intelligence-driven interventions aimed at protecting citizens and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
He emphasized that security thrives on cooperation, noting that the synergy between the Corps and community groups like AIN has been instrumental in improving early-warning systems and intelligence gathering across the state.
The Commandant dedicated the honour to all NSCDC personnel in Katsina, acknowledging their sacrifices and professionalism. He encouraged AIN to remain steadfast in its mission of promoting peace, unity and peaceful coexistence among residents.
The event concluded with renewed calls for deeper community-security partnerships as Katsina continues to strengthen its resilience against crime and emerging threats.
