ADC Blames Tinubu for Nigeria’s Inclusion Among ‘Troubled Nations’ by President Trump

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of tarnishing Nigeria’s global image after U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly included the country in a list of “nations in serious trouble” due to worsening insecurity and failed diplomacy.

According to the ADC, the Tinubu government has failed to safeguard Nigeria’s reputation on the international stage, as insecurity continues to deepen, the economy weakens, and foreign relations deteriorate. The party described the situation as a national embarrassment, particularly as the United States leverages such rankings to exert pressure on vulnerable African nations.

“This development clearly exposes how Nigeria has become a symbol of poor leadership and lack of vision,” the ADC said in a statement.

“The government is more preoccupied with internal politics and party crises instead of rebuilding the country’s image and credibility abroad,” the statement added.

The ADC urged the federal government to retrace its steps by reforming the security architecture and restoring Nigeria’s diplomatic strength, stressing that “Nigeria has no other home if the world turns its back on her.”
