Outrage has trailed the latest wave of violence in Jos, Plateau State, as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan fires a blistering warning to the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, demanding urgent action to protect Nigerians.
Reacting to the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, the Kogi Central lawmaker did not mince words, declaring that the incident is “another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected.”
In a strongly worded statement, Akpoti-Uduaghan recalled the assurances given by the defence chief during his Senate screening, saying she had initially felt a sense of hope.
“Your words were filled with promises and I allowed myself a sigh of relief… at last, I thought,” she said.
But in a sharp turn, the senator challenged the military leadership to deliver immediate results or step aside.
“Prove NOW you are different and secure lives, or step aside. Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results,” she declared.
Her remarks have amplified growing public frustration over persistent insecurity, particularly in parts of Plateau State, where recent attacks have left communities shaken.
Security analysts say the statement reflects rising pressure on Nigeria’s military high command to shift from reactive responses to decisive, preventive operations.
