About three – thousand Bauchi workers to be screened for promotion exam

In an effort to invest in work force,
The Bauchi State Government has organised a skill up workshop and promotion examination for 2,834 civil servants in an effort to improve productivity and efficiency.

Speaking during a three-day capacity building workshop held at the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, the Head of Service, Mohammed Sani Umar Esq. said that the workshop was designed to equip the workers with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to excel in the upcoming promotion examinations and more importantly, in their daily duties.

Umar explained that the state is investing in the growth and development of the workers and it is investing in the future of the state.

“I am delighted to report that our efforts in conducting similar workshops in the past have yielded remarkable results. Last year’s Promotion Examinations saw significant improvement in performance, with the pass percentage rising from 75 percent to 83 percent. This remarkable achievement is proof of the effectiveness of our capacity building initiatives and the dedication of our civil servants.

“I am confident that this year’s workshop will build on this success and drive further improvement,” he said.

The HoS expressed confidence that the training would usher in a new era of excellence in the state civil service. He added that the workshop showed the commitment of the government to meritocracy, professionalism and service delivery.

Permanent Secretary, General Administration Department, Office of Head of Service, Dawud Mahmood Yakubu Esq. charged the participants to be more committed to their career advancement and state’s productivity.

Both officials lauded governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment to welfare of the workers while tasking the participants to reciprocate with dedication to duty.

“We appreciate His Excellency, the Governor, Bala Mohammed for approving and releasing funds for this initiative. His leadership and commitment to the development of our Civil Service are truly commendable. I also appreciate the efforts of Dugge Management Services Ltd. For their expertise and support in making this workshop a reality.”

The Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, said that the governance relies on civil service efficiency to deliver dividends of democracy. “Look around you, the world is changing, upgrade yourself and be more productive.

“For some of you that will be directors, permanent secretaries, it is this type of training and self development that will prepare you. Civil service is evolving and the government is progressing, you need training,” he added.
Many civil servants interviewer Express gratitude to the government for the opportunity and pledged to work hard for the development of the State and the country at large.
