Zulum to Lead Discussions at Qatar Security Conference

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, alongside Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, have been chosen as prominent speakers for an upcoming security conference in Qatar.

The 18th Africa Security Watch Awards and Conference, set to take place in Doha this December, will recognize outstanding contributions by members of Nigeria’s military and other security forces.

At a recent media briefing, Patrick Agbambu, International Coordinator and CEO of Africa Security Watch, shared that this year’s theme is “Developing Modules for People-Centric Governance to Enhance Peace and Security.”

Governor Zulum will deliver the keynote address, while General Musa will discuss “The Link between Socio-economic Development and National Defence.”

Agbambu emphasized that the theme reflects the pressing security challenges across the African continent and seeks to foster dialogue on solutions that prioritize citizen welfare.

He noted that over 70% of Africa still grapples with various forms of insecurity, hindering development and trapping many in poverty.

The conference aims to address these issues with key presentations and discussions from experts across Africa and beyond, focusing on creating a more peaceful and secure future for the continent.
