In a dramatic turn of events, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has hit back at Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, who recently accused the agency of corruption.

NDLEA Chairman, Mohammed Buba Marwa, disclosed during a media briefing that the senator’s accusations stem from a personal vendetta following a raid on his Ilorin residence.

The senator’s residence had allegedly become a hub for drug trafficking. Despite attempts by the senator’s team to interfere with investigations, NDLEA remained firm, leading to the prosecution and conviction of those involved.

Marwa condemned the senator’s remarks in the Senate, calling them “baseless and slanderous,” while reaffirming the agency’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse across Nigeria.
