First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Donates N250m to Borno Flood Victims, Supports 5,000 Female Entrepreneurs

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, alongside Nana Kashim Shettima, wife of the Vice President, has provided N250 million in support of 5,000 female entrepreneurs in Borno whose businesses were devastated by the recent floods in Maiduguri.

The announcement was made during a visit to the state, following the severe flooding caused by the overflow of the Alau Dam last September.

In addition to financial aid, Mrs. Tinubu distributed essential food items to help ease the economic hardships faced by the affected communities.

She noted that this assistance aligns with previous efforts, including a N500 million donation to the Borno State Government through the Renewed Hope Programme, aimed at providing long-term support to flood victims.

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, expressed his deep appreciation for the humanitarian intervention, emphasizing the federal government’s continued commitment to assisting the state in its recovery efforts.

Furthering the relief mission, Coordinating Minister of Health, Muhammad Pate, donated critical medicines and antibiotics to aid in the healthcare response for those affected by the disaster, strengthening the ongoing relief efforts.
