10,000 Orphans Receive Muslim World League Assistance In Kaduna State

10,000 orphans from Kaduna and other states in Nigeria have benefited from the Muslim World League assistance.

Speaking during the flag off and disbursement ceremony in Kaduna state, the Acting Director , Muslim World League in Kaduna state, Shaikh Al- Amin A. Hamza said that the disbursement of allowance to ophans in Kaduna and other states in Nigeria was one of their humanitarian activities to take care of the orphans across the globe.

According to him, in Nigeria Office in Kaduna there were more 10,000 orphans under the care and sponsorship of the Muslim World League.

He explained that criteria for selection for sponsoring of orphans was from zero to 18 years, adding that after 18years they would no longer benefit from the programme.

He called on parents to use the money to take care of the educational needs of their children, their health and oter care services for orphans as well.

In his goodwill message, the Kaduna State Governor, represented by the Commissioner of Human and Social Services, Rabi Salisu said that the Kaduna State Government had a lot of programems and projects to support orphans, people living with disabilities and less privilege in the state.

She said that the state government had policy to support and strengthen theirb welfare in line with the protection of the Child Orphans Act.”

“She added that in Kaduna State , free and compulsory education was available to all categories of people to support children and orphans due to their vulnerability”.

Salisu also said that Kaduna State Government had policy for women and widows economic empowerment to support women in the state.

She called on mothers of the orphans to utilize the opportunity and appealed to partners to bring more programmes that would benefit Widows and orphans in the state.

In remarks, the Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Mosque, Shaikh Dr. Musa Suleiman Adam called on wealthy Individuals in the country to assist orphans and thanked the Muslim World League for the gesture.

A parent, Halima Aliyu From Kaduna North who spoke on behalf of the parents , expressed gratitude to God and thanked the Muslim World
league for the initiative.
