The Katsina State Government has said that it has commenced the distribution of
palliative rice donated to the state by the Federal Government to cushion the
hardship face by the poor and vulnerable in the state.
Governor Dikko Radda stated this during the Flag-off the Rice Distribution to 34
Local Government Areas on Sunday in Katsina.
Radda disclosed that the Katsina state was allocated 21,950 bags of rice for
distribution to the needy, poor and vulnerable at the grassroots.
He further disclosed that the State Government had selected ten persons in each
local government to serve as members of the distribution committees.
The Governor also disclosed that all APC Party Chairman in the LGA’s, all
Council Chairmen, all Imams of both Darika and Izallah, all Districts Heads,
Officers of Police, DSS and Civil Defence are members of the Distribution
committees.
Earlier, the chairman of Presidential Palliative Distribute Committee, Alh. Ibrahim
Kabir Masari, said that the Federal Government had released 22 Trailers loaded
with Rice to each state of the federation.
Masari revealed that the Government of president Tinubu will salvage the poor
Nigerians from hunger and starvation.
