It is understood that the governor met privately with Sheikh Daurawa and other top Hisbah officials on Saturday.

According to the Deputy Commander-General (DCG) of the Kano Hisbah, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, Governor Yusuf had explained issues extensively to the Hisbah officials and and Sheikh Daurawa.

“We held a meeting with Sheikh Daurawa, where all issues were sorted out and the plot of Satan was defeated.

“Kano has been a crucial Islamic state for centuries and we need to keep it that way by fighting all the evil that is threatening our religion and heritage.

“We are also doing this work for the sake of Allah and to also help the governor succeed. The people will hear good news soon,” Dr Aminuddeen said in a short video clip obtained by Daily News 24.

Controversy had reigned after Sheikh Daurawa unexpectedly resigned from the Hisbah a day after Mr Yusuf attacked the operations of the board for allegedly violating human rights during its anti-prostitution campaign.

In November, operatives of the Hisbah board had carried out an operation at some hotels and guest houses, where persons accused of prostitution were hounded and bundled into vehicles.

A video clip of one of the raids showed the board’s personnel throwing a woman into a van, prompting outcry among members of the public.

Also, the Hisbah board had arrested a famous Tiktok skit maker, Murja Kunya and charged her to court for sharing explicit content and engaging in alleged recruitment of girls into prostitution.

The Sharia Court Judge, Malam Nura Yusuf Ahmed had remanded Ms Murja Kunya in prison custody for one week pending hearing on her bail application.

But Ms Murja was controversially found missing from her prison cell in suspicious circumstances, prompting accusations against Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The government denied the accusation of involvement in the Tiktokers release from prison, claiming that she was taken out by security agencies for investigation on fresh allegations.

However, Ms Murja was later returned to court on the adjourned date, where Judge Ahmed, ordered a psychiatric evaluation on her for three months.
