Vote-Buying Sting: Police Nab Political Thugs, Recover Cash and Evidence

In a decisive crackdown on electoral malpractice, the police have once again arrested political thugs and party loyalists involved in vote buying.

During a synchronized raid on September 20, 2024, officers targeted known hotspots in Edo State, leading to the capture of two prime suspects—Emotingham Godspower, 25, and Farawei Isaac, 27—both from Ufunama community, Ovia South West LGA.

The duo, linked to a larger vote-buying syndicate involving a figure known as “Atiku” and a kingpin called “the boss,” was apprehended at So Cash guest house in Ekpoma.

Operation yielded significant cash and incriminating items, further exposing the widespread network attempting to manipulate the elections.
