The Borno State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police ML Yusufu, thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Kwavamti village, Gamasuno District, Gubio LGA, in a daring rescue operation that recovered two AK-47 rifles.
At around 1:00 AM, six heavily armed assailants abducted 15-year-old Modu Kadri. Swift action from the Gubio Divisional Police Unit led officers to the criminals’ hideout, forcing them to abandon the victim and their weapons. In the confrontation, the gunmen fled, leaving behind two AK-47 rifles.
In addition, five civilians, including 70-year-old Baba Fantami, sustained minor injuries and have since been treated and discharged from the local health center.
The police are continuing efforts to track down the fleeing kidnappers, with CP Yusufu praising his team’s courage and reaffirming the command’s commitment to protecting the public.
