The Dangote Group has debunked claims made by NNPCL spokesperson Mr. Olufemi Soneye, alleging that Dangote sells PMS to the NNPCL at N898 per litre. In a strongly worded statement, Group Chief Branding Officer Anthony Chiejina called the claim “misleading and mischievous,” aimed at undermining the significant progress made in addressing Nigeria’s decades-long energy crisis.
Chiejina urged Nigerians to disregard the statement, noting that the official petrol pricing announcement will come from the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales, appointed by President Tinubu, starting October 1. He emphasized that Dangote sells petrol to NNPCL in dollars, resulting in considerable savings compared to current imports, and promised fuel availability across all local governments nationwide.
The assurance comes amid heightened anticipation that the new pricing structure will permanently end fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
