According to all indications, a member of the federal parliament in Yobe state is about to face the wrath of his constituents because they are tired of him for abandoning the people since they elected him to represent them in National House of Representatives.
In an interview with our correspondent, some of the leaders of this complaint from Gaidam, Yunusari and Bursari constituencies in Yobe state indicated that this representative of theirs member of the house of representatives Alhaji Lawan Shettima Ali, has since set foot to Abuja as their representative in this very important chamber, Until now, he has never given them any credit with the intention of carrying out any project for the development of the constituency that will show that they have a representative at the national level.
The leader of this resolution called for the member of parliament Malam Babagana Aisami Geidam said, “We are informing the entire community of Geidam, Yunusari and Bursari (Ngazargamu constituency) that we, as the people of this area, have started the movement to the federal government member representing Ngazargamu Constituency, that is to bring him back home due to his lack of good leadership and not presenting the resolutions that he is bringing to the community in this area, we have come a long way in this plan, we are working hard.”
He added, “This area of Ngazargamu constituency has suffered from the crisis of insurgency, which has caused setbacks in terms of education, economy, agriculture and many other aspects of life, but this member of parliament who represents this area in national Assembly, he could not come up with anything to bring about a change in the life of the community he represents, that is why we made this effort to make a plan to back him home.. said Babagana.
“According to the consultation that we have done, about eighty percent (80%) of the people of this area are not satisfied with the representation of this member of parliament, wherever you find ten people sitting, if you talk to them, you will find eight are showing their dissatisfaction with the leadership of this member of our federal parliament.”
“As a community of Geidam Yunusari and Bursari, we are still not enough to show 12 people who helped with any investment or vocational training and also we are not enough to show at least 12 people who have contributed employment in the federal government, such as police, military, civil defense, immigration, etc.
According to him, in 2019, our constituency was in a state of chaos due to the attacks of Boko Haram terrorists, his relationship with the people of his constituency, there is no development work, there is no visit to the community, there is no good interaction between him and the people of his constituency.
Because I assure the world that we, the people of this constituency, are not satisfied with his representation and we are not with him at all, this is the reason why we, as the people of these areas, will use the opportunity of the constitution which allowed us to make plans to bring him back home if he did not change his attitude, said Babagana.
Therefore, our correspondent tried his best to hear from the Honorable Lawan Shettima Ali on this issue of some of the people of his constituency, on the basis of the accusations that they have been putting on their backs since he left. Parliament but his phone does not answer, and he sent him a message, but uptill now there was no response from him.
“However, our correspondent spoke with the deputy secretary of the APC, Alhaji Kafci Geidam, whether these people who are trying to call this member of their party of APC, know about this. Their complaint? And he replied that they are aware of this movement of these people, but according to him, these people are not members of the APC they came from different political parties, this is the true statement.”
