The Katsina State Government has received a comprehensive report from the investigative committee probing allegations against the Katsina State Hisbah Board.
Chaired by Alhaji Aliyu Zakari Shargalle, Commissioner of Youths and Sports, the committee delved deeply into claims of dehumanization by Hisbah personnel, with evidence surfacing in viral videos and audios.
The committee’s findings, submitted to Secretary to the Government of the State, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, highlight possible lapses in the law establishing the Hisbah Board and suggest measures to prevent future misconduct. The investigation also included consultations with the Kano State Hisbah Board and local security agencies, as well as direct interviews with alleged victims.
Barrister Faskari assured that the government will thoroughly review the report to ensure justice and accountability, while Shargalle expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state in this critical capacity.
