The Executive chairman State Universal Basic Education Board Malam Yusuf Kabir has emphasized the importance of education for nomadic children, describing it as a key factor in improving their lives.
Malam Yusuf Kabir, made this statement during the opening of a two-day training for Heads of Nomadic Unit frim 30 local government areas.
Yusuf Kabir, represented by the Director of Salary and Validation Malam Nasiru Adamu Wali, noted that educating nomadic children contributes to the country’s economic development by enabling them to participate in various economic activities.
He commended the state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusif, for prioritizing education, particularly for nomadic children, through the construction of new schools, provision of teachers and educational materials.
The Director of Nomadic Education, Malam Musa Alhaji Wada, reported that the state has 358 nomadic schools, 1,470 teachers, and 281,064 students.
He highlighted the achievements of the department, including, monitoring teachers’ performance, and organization of extracurricular activities for both Lower and Upper Basic Schools
