The Katsina State Police Command has strongly refuted a viral report circulating on social media, particularly WhatsApp, alleging an attempted bandit attack on the Katsina Metro near Ummaru Musa Yaradua University. The report, described by police as “untrue, baseless, and misleading,” has caused unnecessary panic among residents.

On the evening of August 17th, 2024, at approximately 8:20 PM, credible intelligence was received by the Batagarawa Divisional Police Headquarters about the sighting of armed bandits traveling on seven motorcycles from Dutsen Kura village in Batsari LGA toward Kwarin Mai Kwaro village in Batagarawa LGA.

ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer, reiterated the importance of verifying information before sharing it to avoid spreading unnecessary fear and panic.
